The Damon Castillo Band is incredible! They hail from my home town San Luis Obispo and it feels like home every time I listen to their album. They came up for a show here in Seattle and I took a few photos at the concert. They will be here Friday at The Showbox at the Market with Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe. Show starts at 8pm It’s $18 advance and $20 day. More info on the Showbox Website

I’ve been a bad blogger. I really bad blogger. BUT I am trying to be a much better blogger (say that 3 times fast-whew). In that spirit I have decided to post some weddings I shot long ago but never blogged. This wedding I shot with my BPF (Best Photography Friend) last summer. It was pretty brilliant. Enjoy :)

I wanted to shoot Monday night. I really wanted to shoot. I threw out a little twitter post to see who would be interested in shooting with me. Three or four people responded. Kate thought we should put it on the Seattle Flickr Meetups group. So she started a discussion. People were excited. People were totally down for this impromptu photoshooot / lighting workshop event. Soon it got on the calender. There were 20 people rsvp’ed. Wow. I was really excited. I checked the rsvp list like every 15 minutes. By Sunday night we had 40 people! Double wow! Monday was crazy. I was on my email, phone twitter all day getting things pulled together. Monday night- it was epic.

I can’t believe how many people came out to last nights event. It was so incredible to see such a turnout on such short notice. Thanks to each and everyone of you who came. I wish there had been more time to talk with everyone! I learned so much last night about lighting. I have always shot with natural light. Maybe because artificial lighting just seemed so scary to me. There are so many parts and pieces that go with it! But artificial light is freaking SWEET! You can really do some amazing stuff with off camera lighting and I am soooo thankful for all the lessons I got last night! I can’t wait to play with all your equipment again soon. I’m already Amazon shopping for lighting goodies :)

I didn’t really shoot that much last night- only about 300 images and half of them were me messing up my settings getting used to working with flash. I do have a few to share, hope you love them…

Before the PUG meeting Kate and I headed into the heart of Tacoma to takeĀ  a few shots of the glass museum. It was pretty cool there was lots of weird stuff to shoot and keep us busy for a while before the meeting started. Here are some of my favorites…
