Happy Friday!!!

April 3, 2010I am going to run a marathon.
I wanted to run a marathon because It’s something something I never thought I’d do. Before beginning training I’d never run more then a mile in my entire life. I want to be healthy and I want to make sure I’m living my life to the fullest.
There were people in my life that never had a chance to run a marathon and I want to do it for them. In my sophomore year of college I had two friends from High School die in a car accident. It was incredibly shocking and sudden. Two weeks later I lost a very special family friend, William Heaton to leukemia. He was seven years old. There is not a day I don’t think of him. A few weeks after that I lost another friend, Keely Rose, to cancer just before her 19th birthday. Her mom and I got very close, sitting in the ICU with her. We were both holding her hands as she took her last breath. In that moment everything I thought I knew about the world changed.
Both my Grandmother and my Mother SURVIVED cancer, so compared to what they went through 26.2 miles is nothing.
So I’m going to run a marathon. For Jeff and Kyle. For Will. For Keely. For my Grandma. For my Mom. And for me.
Keep me accountable. If you’d like to go for a run sometime, let me know. I’m still pretty slow.

February 7, 2010I’ve been dying to try some doggie photography and when is was oh-so-sunny this past Thursday I figured it would be a good day. Kim Charie has the cutest puppy who is sooooo full of energy. I was only able to get a few in focus- he moved super fast. This is an example of 90% of the shots I got 
I did manage to get a few cute ones when a stick slowed him down…
He swam in all the puddles along the trail and knew just where each one was. So he got a little muddy
Along the trail we met a few more doggies and I discovered the dog love of my life.

I love my cousin!
January 20, 2010My cousin and his friends road tripped over to Seattle to come visit. Before they left I shot a few photos of them on our balcony. Oh how I miss the summer…
My cousin James is studying Musical Theater, he’s an amazing piano player, and has awesome taste in music He and his friend (pictured below) just finished writing their first musical, they are sooo talented!

January 5, 2010I love Etsy! There are so many things you can find on there for weddings, parties, whenever. I found my earrings and bracelet for my wedding there and bought most of my bridesmaids gifts there too.

Anyway I found a seller that makes custom maps for your invitations on Etsy today!
So stinking cool! I was looking for someone who did this when I was making my own invitations because google maps just doesn’t cut it in stylish wedding invitations. I ended up just having an awesome friend of mine craft one and it turned out great. In case you don’t have any map drawing talented friends here is the link to her Etsy: baumbirdy
